With the pace of change in regulation, financial products and business practices, it may be found that procedures and methods are unchanged and no longer the best fit for a company's current operations.
Sator will bring its experience in operational treasury to analyse treasury processes, controls and reporting. Sator will affirm effective processes, identify efficiency opportunities, highlight risk-control improvements and plan and implement any necessary changes, as required.
The elements that may be identified from such a review include:
- Excess funds improvements - Cash Flow
- FX exposures/netting opportunities
- Interest rate risk
- Operational risk
- Process improvements
- Control improvements
- Anti Money Laundering needs
The sale of receivables (factoring) or other assets can provide significant advantages in providing funds to asset-rich companies that otherwise are lacking the capital and funds to support unsecured borrowing.
Sator provides review and advice to companies already engaged in this type of structured finance, or can carry out an assessment with recommendations for firms considering embarking on this method of finance.
The experience covers sale legal documentation, information requirements, fund flows, process design, procedures and analysis. Of particular importance is the measurement and forecasting of credit loss reserve and write-off expectations.
Sator will provide best practice processes for the management of the credit loss provision process and incorporation into the sale of receivables pricing to give an internationally acceptable, effective funding cost under transfer pricing measures, covering many jurisdictions of the world including Europe, Middle East, Asia/Pacific, Latin America and North America.
Foreign Exchange Services
For many clients, the multi-national nature of their business and structure requires them to buy or sell foreign currencies. Goods and services contracts may commit clients to future foreign currency rights or obligations and they may want to protect their business against exchange rate fluctuations.
Alternatively, customers may be requesting our clients to perform FX transactions on their behalf, where an in-house solution could deliver better pricing for the customer and additional transaction revenue for our client’s business.
Sator will provide an expert review of all aspects of our client’s Foreign Exchange (FX) requirements, operations and transactions. Sator can use its experience in all aspects of FX to assist by recommending and designing new processes and controls, or changes to existing procedures and, on implementing a solution, assisting in the selection of appropriate FX service providers and platforms.
Sator helps clients:
- identify and capture FX requirements and exposures as they arise
- have standard procedures and secure processes to transact the right FX deals
- obtain the best rates
- provide foreign currency funding through use of FX Swaps
- identify necessary controls, reporting and operational risk mitigation
- work with banks and other FX deal providers to establish FX dealing lines and custom solutions for your business need
- provide training and materials on FX for every level
Sator can help ensure FX risks and costs are minimised with full, but straight forward, control.
The impact of derivatives on the profitability or valuation of a company can be enormous and so both IFRS and US GAAP require the identification, designation and valuation of derivatives.
Derivatives can be simple foreign exchange and interest rate related, or they can be complex combinations involving caps, collars, forward rate agreements or even embedded in a contract or agreement.
Sator can :
- Assist in identifying all derivative exposures
- Assess contracts, write procedures and train staff for embedded derivatives
- Write procedures for their recording in accordance with IFRS or US GAAP rules
- Give guidance on appropriate valuation, including acceptable underlying rate indexes, to record and report in the financial statements.
